The Far East meets Down South.

Two award-winning chefs unite.

In 2018, Aaron Franklin, of Franklin Barbecue and Tyson Cole, of Uchi, merged their two loves of Asian and Texas cuisine together to create LORO.

About us

Loro is an Asian smokehouse and bar featuring grilled and smoked meats with Southeast Asian and Japanese-inspired sauces, sides, and a bar that boasts craft beer, boozy slushees, and batch cocktails.

We keep it casual and communal. Sharing is encouraged. Order food at the bar and sit in our thoughtfully designed indoor space or hang outside on the expansive patio and beer garden. Bring your friends, your family, and your pups. No need to make a reservation, because we don't take them. Just come as you are, kick back, and stay awhile.

Our food

We believe the best food starts with the best products. We source only the highest-quality cuts of meat from single-family farms committed to natural protocols.

Low & slow

We begin slow cooking our meats every day at midnight, so it's ready for lunch the next day. Most of our meats are finished over post oak wood on our open fire grill, giving each piece a little more flavor. Our house-made cures and marinades enhance each bite keeping our food nice and moist.

What not to miss

We love all our food, but here are a few of our chef’s favorites.

Our spaces

The design of Loro is just as much a melding of cultures as the food. Texas Dancehall vibes collide with Far Eastern sensibilities to deliver a communal indoor and outdoor dining experience. The intent is a warm, laid-back, and leisurely space to welcome anyone looking for good food and good times.
